The PVAC objective .  .  .

  • To explore the aspect of tactile contact between the dancer's feet and the human body.

  •

  • To create new and unique visuals of expressive movement components and works.

    • Tactile contact can, and does alter our perception of the world around us, touch can connect a person to people and our world, both animate and inanimate elements in a very personal and fulfilling way thus, our living experiences become more real and reachable.

As with all of the primary senses we possess, contextual touch is a critical part of what makes us human, and though it can easily and often be taken out of context, feared, (or worse) even ignored, still, touch can and does bring so much meaning into our lives.

The work of PVAC is to celebrate, and demonstrate touch, by how we use the dancer's foot as a primary theme component.  We use it in an interactive way in the works we produce that combines Touch, and the Dancer's Foot together in a way to create unique visualizations that allows the dancer's feet to become the true subject of the art but not to the exclusion of the dance artist.

To that end PVAC works to develop applications to this primary element.

This is the PVAC directive:

  • To explore the element of touch through contextual interactive contact between the foot and the human body (in essence: using the human body as a primary {but not exclusive} performance landscape).

  • We believe that expression through the human body is, and can be expressed through more than traditional means. For us, that expressionism is defined by a principle component of the foot as it interacts within its element.

  • At PVAC, we work to understand and define what this means, then, we create the presentation so it fits into the scope of the PVAC theme.

  • The element of touch is an important aspect of how our work is derived and developed.

  • The application is focused in a significant part, toward how dancers feet are used in our developed works.

  • They are considered to be a dynamic part of how contact is made with another person and or object within our scope of expression.

  • For PVAC, the foot will do, or represent either literally or metaphorically, many ideas, concepts, and facets of society and humanity . . .
